Marriage and things
We got married last Friday at the sky dome of the CN tower. It's was wonderful.
If anyone still read this that is a binational couple in trouble, I hope that our marriage offers some hope for you. We went through hell to get where we are and I am glad we did.
Our store has been doing well with the warm weather. Our landlord is using the new HST tax to reach further into our pockets. Greedy people suck and lose in the end. It just takes time. He is still stealing electricity from us. Actions will be taken and he has been warned.
We have our first wedding cake due this weekend for our neighbours and Emilio has been doing fantastic cakes lately.
I have to tell you how much my dogs have improved my life. They make me get out 4 times a day, and we spend lunch hours roaming the streets or at the dog park. They give me the mental break needed to work as many hours as I do in a day. I love the little noodles.

Congratulations! Great to hear things went well.
Now that the weather's getting good, we'll be by for some more ice cream, and maybe bring our pups.
Congrats, Guys!
Hope Emi made a cake for you with two "grooms" on top (pardon the expression!) . . . .
Felicidades a los dos!!!
Yeah, unfortunately E. and I still fall into the category of "binational couple in trouble."
Within the next few weeks we'll be making another attempt at getting to Canada, not with PR but temporarily for me to study with the longer-term goal of qualifying for residency. Another several thousand dollars of investment, y nada es cierto. I have knots in my stomach almost constantly at the thought of submitting all this paperwork again for a long shot, for our fate to be in the hands of an anonymous consular officer in Guatemala City...
Well, enough said. I wish you guys the best and I hope some day we'll meet you in Toronto.
Thanks James. I keep wondering when I will run into you at Allan Gardens. See you soon for a gelato
Thanks Bob,
Emilio made an ancient vessel shaped cake with images of greek and roman gay couples.
Sarah, I cannot express how much it pains me that the Canada that opened it's arms for Emilio and I no longer exists under Stephen Harper and Jason Kenney. I am just holding onto hope that we soon will bring Canada back to a fair immigration process where you and E will be here together safe and happy. I tell everyone who will listen how unfair immigrations has become under Conservative tyranny and they are shocked by it.
Tom, you and Emilio continue to inspire us! I thought I recognized the vessel, filled with strawberries!
Your stories show the rest of the bi-national couples like us, that there is hope for the 'happily ever after' ending we all want.
It may be that ours will be in the United Kingdom, as the painful feeling of missing someone so much is beginning to overwhelm me. Once we are legally registered as a couple in England, we will explore weather to re-apply to Canada or me just immigrate to UK.
At least we can both visit you two in Toronto now! Happy Summer to everyone!
What time are you usually at Allan Gardens? We can try to catch you there.
I don't know you, but congratulations. To read your blog is to read a wonderful love story.
FELICIDADES!!!! Los mejores deseos Muchachos!!
Toma, Much love to you both! A visit would be great.
James,
I usually take my boys to the park around 1PM on weekdays.
Rosie and Lucca, thank you very much!
Unfortunately, 1PM on weekdays isn't possible for us -- we work the standard 9-5 hours. But we'll be sure to be by the shop.
Oops, said this on Facebook but forgot to say it here, too.
Congratuations on making your commitment official. Wishing you many (many, many...) happy years together in Canada.
It's terrific to hear how your new pups have improved your life. Ah, the power of dogs. How we love them. :)
Looking forward to seeing you in the store or elsewhere.
YAY!
All the best!!!!!!
A very late congratulation from someone who just discovered your blog.
Congratulations, guys. Good luck in all your future endeavors!
